Doula support
"A doula is not a luxury. She is the bridge between the birth you hope for and the experience you will carry with you for the rest of your life."
I believe in the power of feeling truly supported.
Not just during birth. Not just in the early days postpartum. But through the entire journey of becoming and expanding a family.
A doula is not a medical professional. I will not deliver your baby or monitor your vitals. What I offer is something different, and in many ways, something deeper. I offer continuity. Presence. Knowledge that is both evidence-based and rooted in the wisdom of generations. A familiar face in the room who is there solely for you.
Who I work with
I work primarily with expat families in Rotterdam and the surrounding area: English, French, and Spanish-speaking families navigating pregnancy and postpartum in a new country, in an unfamiliar healthcare system, often far from their own mothers, sisters, and village.
I know what it is to be far from home. I know what it means to need someone who understands your language, not just the words, but the culture, the fears, the unspoken things.
That is the space I hold for you.
My approach
I lean on my training in birth education, holistic bodywork, and postpartum care to support you. I don't bring a rigid method, I bring personalised support that respect for your choices (whatever they are).
I believe that:
- Birth is not a medical event to be managed: it is a physiological process to be supported
- The postpartum period is sacred, not a recovery to rush through but a transformation to be held.
- You are the expert on your own body and baby: my role is to inform, support, and empower, never to tell you what to do.
- Your partner matters too, I support the whole family, not just the birthing person
- Continuity of care changes outcomes: knowing your doula, trusting her, feeling safe with her makes a real difference
